MIELLERIE DE VENTENAC

We have been based in Ventenac Cabardès, 10 minutes from Carcassonne, since 2002. We keep around 600 hives as part of pastoral beekeeping system. Our region is an ideal place for beekeeping. It gives us access to: • The mountains of Ariège, where we produce honey from acacia, chestnut, lime, rhododendron, heather, common heather and raspberry. • The Corbières, where our rosemary, white heather, bupleurum and garrigue honeys originate from. • The Cabardès plateau, where the thyme and bramble in spring, and the many flowers of the scrubland in early summer produce honeys with distinctive flavours. • The Montagne Noire, where we produce chestnut, forest and maquis honey, as well as mountain honey at higher altitudes. • The Lauragais plain where we produce sunflower honey, which we sell mainly wholesale. A vending machine with a dozen different types of honey is available if we are not there.
