Verzeille Loop
Explore the area's beauty by hiking, horseback riding, or biking—activities the whole family can enjoy year-round
Description
Follow the yellow trail markers
Start in front of City Hall, head up Allée de la Condamine, then take Rue des Tisserands and begin the climb gently.
You’ll pass, in succession, the Sainte Marie des Pins estate (an organic farm), the Auberge de Pommayrac, and then the equestrian center.
Continue straight ahead on the dirt path toward the D 56.
Then turn right for about 400 meters, then turn left onto the descending path to ford the “La Lauquette” stream.
Continue walking until you reach the rock topped by an iron cross: a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the village of Ladern-sur-Lauquet.
At the entrance to the village, turn right just after the bridge.
Cross the square and walk past the cemetery.
At the crossroad, follow the signs for Saint-Hilaire for 200 meters, and before the right-hand turn, take the ascending path that runs between vineyards and scrubland.
Some very pleasant stretches through the woods—especially in summer—will make your return trip more enjoyable.
During the descent, after passing a V-shaped flight of stairs, turn left.
Continue along the trail, then the paved road, and you’ll be back in Verzeille.
