The chapel, located to the east of Montolieu, is built on a rocky outcrop. As the monastery's archives were destroyed during the French Revolution, its history remains a mystery. Its construction could have been the result of a collective pledge made in 1621 when the plague ravaged the region but spared Montolieu! Cypresses several hundred years old, classified as remarkable trees, are a magnificent addition to the Mediterranean landscape around the chapel. A 6 km walk along the path around the hill on which the chapel sits starts from the car park of the retirement home. A pilgrimage is made to the chapel for ‘Pâquettes’, the Sunday after Easter. Mass is celebrated there on 16 August. There is the ‘’Fête de la Colline Saint-Roch festival in July. The chapel is open to visitors every Sunday in July and August from 10.30 am to midday and from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm.
